Spring Shower

A beautiful baby shower/house warming was held for us on Sunday. My mom, youngest sister, and a dear neighbor filled the house with fresh flowers-- narcissus, pansies, primula, herbs, and pussy willows. They also put together a most delicious spread-- there were mini filo pastries filled with spinach and cheese, homemade pizzas, fruit and veggies, all sorts of crackers and dips, and tiny sandwiches. Mom made a special runner for our table out of a fabric illustrated with all different kinds of eggs. I love it.
Those little bunny slippers below were my sister's as a baby. And you can see me holding that same sister in the next picture (my uncle gave me this photograph-- which I'd never seen before). I think that I was about 6 or so when it was taken.

We received so many thoughtful and much needed gifts from our friends and family (I've posted more photos on flickr). It will be the greatest joy to share this new person with everyone. Today at my prenatal checkup I was given the remainder of my appointments-- two more until the due date, one for the due date, and one just in case I go beyond the due date. This really put it all into perspective. So on that note, I am just so filled with gratitude for the generous support that we have from all of our loved ones. We are so blessed by all of your love and help-- be you in Maine, on the other coast, or somewhere in between--

Thank you!!!!!!!!!
