Time to Play

I've been pretending that I work at a diner when I cook at this old Chambers stove. It's mint green which is the exact color of my alter-ego, Gladys Beauvier's aura. She is the person that I become when I play the organ. But, I've alsobeen feeling her spirit here, at this stove, as I fry eggs or ignite the broiler for toast.

Our landlord grew up with this stove in her childhood home. She was going to sell it because the oven regulator needs fixing, but I think that we've successfully convinced her to hang onto it and have it repaired. It's just so great, and she obviously has a great deal of love for it. I completely understand.

This is also in our kitchen, although not for long. It's some absolutely intoxicating pomegranate juice that we found at a discount store in our area... you know the kind of place that manages to find and stock the most exotic products (at unbeatable prices), from countries like Azerbaijan (that's where this juice is from). I love the bottle's label-- you can't really see it well in this picture, but it's beautiful.

And I will now leave you with this new-to-me kitchen vignette...I can't believe that the snow is really melting-- it just looks so harmless and friendly in this picture. So long, snow.
