Moving Week/End

Here we are on March 1st. at 33 weeks. Benb and my Mom have gone to pick up the Uhaul. I'm saying goodbye to this little apartment that has been our home for over a year. It's not fancy, or perfect, but it has done right by us-- especially seeing that we arrived here in shambles-- with barely a penny to our name, and now we are leaving with something that is beginning to resemble stability. It's so easy for me to become attached to "home". I love being home and I love creating it. I definitely think that, in my case, this is a genetic thing. While walking around in the new place, I started to think about how it would become our baby's first home. How, if we are to stay there for a while, it might be the place that provides our child with all of those incredible first sensory experiences-- smells, the feeling of space, light, sounds, and textures.

In the meantime, there is a lot to do. A lot of cleaning, figuring out schedules, and list making. But it's all very exciting, and I am really enjoying the last couple of days that we have at the old place. It feels as though we are hiding out up here with our air mattress, canned soup, and alarm clock radio.
