Yellows and Cupcakes

The first of the Robertson Family Quilt blocks are complete. What a pleasure it is to see all of these yellows lined up and on my wall. I don't want to take them down. It's difficult to see all of the different shades in these pictures-- especially the lighter ones. Again, you can go to Purl Bee to see a tutorial on this quilt pattern. The fabrics that I've used are just what I have around-- some vintage, recycled, newish-- although I was in need of a primary yellow and serendipitously scored on a large quantity of bright yellow cotton at Goodwill this weekend. Now onto the reds!
And in celebration of Valentine's Day...
some chocolate cupcakes with pink cream cheese frosting. I love to bake, but because there are only two of us, it's hard to manage an entire cake. Holidays give me an excuse, though. So I will send Benb off to work tomorrow with some for his co-workers, and I'll bring a couple of these downstairs to our elderly neighbor, Dorothy.
Then, I will make some tea and enjoy one (or two!) myself.
