To the
Greenhouse
If you are experiencing extremely cold weather right now, and are in need relief, I strongly suggest a visit to your local nursery/greenhouse. What a revelation yesterday was. Just to know that the sensation of semi-tropical warmth can indeed be felt only a few miles away is seriously comforting. Our little jaunt helped me to be more grateful for this time that I have away from work. Even though I sincerely love my job, it was nice to simply admire all of the plant life, knowing that someone else was taking care of it. A gorgeous display of cyclamen in their finest Valentine shades of cerise, pale pink, red-violet, lipstick, and pinky-white had our attention for a while.

I was happy to possess a gift certificate, but I mostly stuck to the practical stuff-- potting soil, a couple terracotta pots, and gloves. However, it would have been nearly impossible to resist one of the sweet primroses (a true symbol of Spring), so I picked up a cheerful yellow one that Benb really liked.
Home we went.Benb started dinner, and I gave some of our plants new homes. Today they seem very content-- their roots spreading, poking, relaxing, and reaching out. You can see more pictures of our greenhouse visit here.
