Green

Another green shirt!!!...
For the longest time I was a red fanatic, but then I discovered green. It's interesting that they are complementary. Perhaps this has something to do with my adoration of both? And when I saw this fabric, it didn't even matter that it's 100% polyester (yes, it melts), I knew exactly what I would do with the green and white cherry blossoms.

Here, you will notice that I actually am pregnant!! Almost to 29 weeks, in fact. However, what you can't see in these pictures is how much this baby is boppin' about in there. Funny though, I found out about this shirt pattern (Simplicity 3887) over at Angry Chicken, and as it turns out, she is pregnant too...

Even though this is not a maternity pattern, it really does work as such. So I am very happy with the fact that I'll probably be able to continue to wear it (with a few minor adjustments) after the baby is born. I did make the shirt one size larger than my usual size-- just to be on the safe side. Gathering up the neckline and attaching it to the neckband proved to be trickier than I thought it would be(I had to do a re-do), but I think that this is because my sewing machine (it's old) doesn't make a very convincing long stitch.

And there you have it--the new green shirt! Many thanks to Amy (Angry Chicken) for the heads up on this pattern, as well as to my Beloved for the photographs. Tonight we are off to our first childbirth education class. This is my first baby, so I have no idea of what to expect. All that I know is that I want information.
